The Camp Nou is FC Barcelona's home stadium. Unlike most other football stadiums, which bear the name of a famous club president or the club's sponsor, Camp Nou simply means "New Field" and has borne this name since its construction in the 50s.
With seats for over 99,000 spectators, Camp Nou is the largest in Europe as regards seating capacity; it also barely misses a spot in the top 10 for the largest stadiums in the world. UEFA has also declared Camp Nou to be a Category 4 stadium, allowing it to host such important international competitions as the '99 Champions League Final and several UEFA Cups.
But of course the year-round stars in Camp Nou are the Barça players who call the stadium home. FC Barcelona tickets sell out weekly to allow fans and families to cheer for the blue-and-reds or their opponents for the week.
